Why should I custom frame my portraits? | Gillette, Wyoming Photographer

I am happy to offer clients several stunning frame styles to choose from. Each museum quality frame comes with an archival mat to add a polished finishing touch to your favorite portraits.

All portrait clients receive a complimentary custom wall design consult following their session. Using the latest technology, I am able to show you what your framed wall display will look like on YOUR walls with YOUR images. It takes the guess work out of ordering so that you can be confident in your investment.

I also would like to take the time to explain the importance of museum-quality frames and professional archival mats. You can absolutely go to a store such as Target or HomeGoods, and pick up a very inexpensive frames for your favorite session portraits.

It is however crucial to note that your image will not last a long time in those frames. When framed this way, the print emulsion will come in contact with the glass over time. The photograph will most likely stick to it permanently, ruining the appearance and you will be unable to remove the photograph from the frame in the future. You are most likely able to think of childhood photographs of your own that this has happened to. The mats and backing of the frame that you can pick up in everyday stores are also not usually acid-free and very rarely archival. This means that over time these parts of the frame will release chemicals into the print causing results like fading and color changes.

I offer museum quality products to you because I want your photographs to become their Heirlooms. I want the framed portraits I offer my clients to be the same timeless, perfect frame that is hung in their grandchildren's homes someday. There are many reasons for investing in the custom photography experience, and this is most definitely one of them.

Just as it matters where your images are printed, it matters how they are framed and displayed to ensure lasting quality. It is my passion to see you adore your portrait not just on your Facebook, but on the walls of your home for generations.
